It’s viral for a reason folks! About a year and a half ago, I posted this macadamia granola recipe, and y’all went bananas! This recipe quite literally pulled me out of a major Instagram slump. This recipe started the greatest granola love affair the internet has ever seen. Now, 18 granola recipes later, I realized this ridiculously delicious granola was never on my website! Oh, the shame! But it is here now, and I couldn’t be more excited for you to try it – no more mindless scrolling through my Instagram feed to find all you need to make this delicious granola. It’s all here in a fancy little printable package waiting for you to bake and devour! This Macadamia Granola is packed with healthy fats and protein. This granola is not only tasty but also incredibly nutritious. I use macadamia butter for this recipe, but you can certainly use any other nut or seed butter you have on hand.
Preheat your oven to 320°F, or 325°F for a conventional oven. In a large bowl, combine the oats, macadamia nuts, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, buckwheat groats, ground flax seeds, cinnamon, and salt. Set this dry mixture aside.
In a small pot, heat the olive oil, maple syrup, and macadamia butter over medium heat until they blend together smoothly. Stir in the vanilla extract. Pour this wet mixture over the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly to ensure everything is well coated.
Spread the granola mixture evenly on two baking sheets and bake for 30 minutes, turning the pans halfway through for even baking. Once the granola is golden brown, remove from the oven and let it cool completely before lifting it off the pan. Use a hard spatula to carefully get underneath the granola. Store the cooled granola in mason jars at room temperature. This is the spatula that I use in all of my reels and you are always asking about it! Click here.
This Macadamia Granola is not just another granola recipe; it’s a game-changer, it’s simple and it’s absolutely delicious. There is a reason it’s viral and if this blog doesn’t convince you to make it then maybe all of thousands of you who have tried it in the past will! The combination of macadamia nuts and butter gives it a unique, buttery richness that sets it apart. It’s packed with healthy fats and protein, making it a nutritious choice for breakfast, snacks, or even dessert. Plus, it’s gluten-free and can easily be customized with your favourite nuts and seeds.

I have a question, can I use tahini?
Absolutely! Let me know how you like it Michelle! Thanks for the question
Good morning Teri-Ann,
I’m a big fan and love your recipes and cuteness! I made the Macademia granola with tahini and it was soooo good. Perfect amount of sweet + crunch + salt. Love it, thank you,
Alison
Hi Alison! I love this so much 🙂
I made this granola today and am so fulfilled with the tastes and the textures, a granola I have been looking for for a long time. I combined it with cashew hemp milk, what a winner. Thank you, so much!
Hey Lisa! Thanks for the review, love the fact that you paired this granola with the cashew hemp milk!! What a winning decision. Thanks for sharing 🙂
May I substitute maple syrup for molasses or date syrup or is it mandatory for the flavors expected in this granola?
Hey Bryce, i would say that molasses is going to give the recipe a very different flavor and it’s typically more thick than maple but date syrup would probably be a great option to substitute with
I didn’t have macadamia butter so I used tahini instead and it was saaaaah good!!! Crunchy, hint of saltiness, just enough sweetness – perfecto!
So happy that you enjoyed this recipe Fi! Love that you were able to make your modification work out 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to rate and review!
Can’t wait to make this granola. Any chance I can substitute more macadamia butter for the oil? Or any other ideas?
Hey Sherry – I wouldn’t suggest substituting for more oil however you could try another nut or seed butter!
Hi
What can buckwheat groat be replaced with?
Hey Kavita, you can replace the buckwheat groats with any nut or seed of your liking!
I don’t have any buckwheat. Can I still make it?
Hi Indy, yes you can, replace the buckwheat with any other nut or seed you’d like
Hi, can I replace maple syrop with honey? I have my own bee-garden, so the best and healthy honey 🙂
Hello Ursula, you absolutely can use honey instead of maple!
I made this recipe twice. The first time I followed instructions. The second time I added 1/4 cup cacao and only 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Both came out delicious. This recipe is amazing. My Italian dad who loves nuts and cereal for his breakfast, but he doesn’t love trying different recipes than the traditional ones, loved this granola for his breakfast and asks me for another jar!! I don’t have any trouble to find ingredients here in Switzerland and that is extraordinary! I cooked it at 160 degrees celsius for 25 minutes (fan oven). Thank you very much for sharing this gem!
hey Silvia! I am so happy to hear that this recipe has become a repeat for you and you’re loving it! Also love to read that your father has also been enjoying it 🙂 Thanks so much for taking the time to rate this recipe, review and share your experience – it certainly is helpful to others in the community!
As I did not have buckwheat groat, I used raw oat bran instead. Taste is good. Will use less maple syrup next time though
Make it work for you. Love this! xx
Hi, I would like to transform this granola into bars. What do you suggest? Thanks
