A few weeks ago I put a poll on my IG stories asking y’all what flavour of granola you wanted next. The answer was almost a tie. Well, not really 65% of you wanted Apple Cinnamon and the rest of you wanted Snickers. I promise you that Snickers is coming but I just couldn’t contain myself when I saw how many of you wanted apple cinnamon… I mean it is the season of apples and I just got so excited! My other fall-inspired granola, the Carrot Cake Granola has gotten so much attention and love I knew I had to give you another one. I love adding fresh ingredients to my granola and this time I went for apple. It does alter the bake time because the fruit needs time to dehydrate somewhat but the wait is totally worth it.
I baked mine for 35 minutes, let it cool completely and then baked it again for 10 minutes as I wasn’t satisfied with the texture. Re-baking or baking twice is not something I am new to, but I haven’t really talked to you guys about it. Baking twice is absolutely fine as long as you keep a close eye on things. Think about biscotti for example; they are a twice-baked cookie and boy are they delicious. The second bake is necessary for that crispy and crunchy outcome. If my baking sheets were larger I could have spread it out more evenly and probably wouldn’t have needed that second bake. No harm no foul. It tastes and smells amazing. If you need any granola-making essentials you can check out what I use here.
I also loved The First Mess’s take on an apple cinnamon granola and inspired me to make this flavour profile all my own! Anyway, if you’re looking for a whole new granola to try – this Healthy Apple Cinnamon Granola should be it! Packed with warm spices, fresh apples, and a mix of crunchy nuts and seeds, it’s perfect for meal prep, easy to store, and delicious as breakfast or a snack!
Preheat the oven to 320°F convection. Add all dry ingredients (except grated apple) to a large mixing bowl and stir to combine.
In a small pot, combine tahini, olive oil, maple syrup, and vanilla. Stir over medium heat until fully mixed.
Pour the warm wet ingredients over the dry ingredients and stir well. Grate the apple, squeeze out the excess water, and fold it into the granola mixture.
Spread the mixture evenly across two large baking sheets to avoid overcrowding. Bake for 20 minutes, then rotate the pans for even cooking. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and dry to the touch.
Let the granola cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container and enjoying.
This apple cinnamon granola is versatile and can be enjoyed in many ways:
With the sweetness of maple syrup, a touch of cinnamon, and fresh apple, this granola is a treat for your tastebuds. You can customize it however you’d like such as using different nuts, adding dried cranberries, or swapping the tahini for almond butter to make it your own. It’s also super easy to make and can be enjoyed as breakfast, a snack or as dessert!
To keep your apple cinnamon granola fresh and crunchy, store it in an airtight container at room temperature. It will stay crisp for up to two weeks, and you can even freeze it for longer storage.

Could dried apples be used instead of the freshly grated apple? Thinking so but perhaps they would need to be added later in baking or after baking so as not to get too dry/crisp.
Hey Caroline, Dried apple would def work. Dried apple is very chewy so yes, adding it after its baked is best!
This is soooo goooood! Tastes delicious and love having it with milk or yogurt.
hey Linda! Thanks for the review, I agree it’s amazing with yogurt my goodness!
The best granola I ever made
Thank you for creAting🙏💛
Love this review! Thanks so much for the feedback Riet!
I made this with a couple substitutions. Coconut oil instead of olive oil and craisins instead of raisins. It smelled amazing while baking it unfortunately the flavour wasn’t as intense as I was hoping. I’ll put more cinnamon and maybe some nutmeg next time.
Hey Alex, thanks for sharing your experience! Sorry the flavor was not as deep as you anticipated! I hope when you try it again it turns out as you hoped!
I love this Granola. I made it as a Christmas treat for my husbands breakfast. He said it is the best he has ever had. Only problem is he has eaten it all so now have to make another batch😊😉
ahahah love that this is the only problem you’re having with the granola!! Thanks for taking the time to rate and review this recipe. So happy that you and the hubby enjoyed it over the holidays xo
Hi could I use apple sauce in replacement for the oil?
Hi Toni, I’ve never tried that but I don’t think you will get the same outcome as the oil is what binds the ingredients together and helps them crisp up
This was my first time making granola, and now I can never go back to store bought! My husband and girls loved it! It also made for a nice treat to give to my parents and sisters in small mason jars. Thank you for sharing your recipe. I will definitely be trying others.
This brings me so much joy!!! You should try my carrot cake granola for Easter!!
hi dear ! i will be making this for thr first time. can u suggest a substitute for dried coconut and also would like to avoid any nut butter/ tahini.
Hi Bhavika! You can definitely skip the dried coconut or replace it with a few extra oats or seeds. As for nut butters, you can swap them for a seed butter or increase your oil and maple. Hope you love it!
I have made many of your delicious granola recipes, and this one is one of my favourites. It is so full of flavour, especially with the cinnamon and vanilla.
Thank you so much for creating your amazing granola recipes!
Hey Shelley! I am so happy that you’ve been on the granola train! Cannot wait for you to try all the ones to come!
So delicious! I used your twice baked method and added the soaked/drained dried cranberries during the second bake. Thanks so much for sharing!!
Hey Kimberly, Thanks for sharing your experience with the recipe! I’m glad that you enjoyed it 🙂
Hi there!
Can’t wait to try this! Could I add some mini chocolate chips to this instead of the raisins? I think my kids would much rather chocolate chips! Thanks
Hey Melissa, of course, add anything you’d like. I would of course suggest waiting to add the chocolate chips until everything is completely cooled
Hi Teri- Can i use coconut sugar instead of maple syrup as a sweetener?
I have never done that… I think it would change the texture as the maple syrup is a liquid that helps bind everything together.
This was SUCH a treat!! Definitely a fall vibe recipe but it’s current SPRING and who doesn’t love the smell of baked Apples and Cinnamon?!?!?! HIGHLY recommend this one! I subbed Tahini with natural peanut butter and it was DELISH!
I am so glad you loved it my friend!!!!
