It was just over a year ago when I met this beam of light at the restaurant I manage. She came in all quietly for a bite at the bar. She wanted something vegetarian (obviously that peaked my interest) and that was the moment our friendship started. I am a strong believer that people come into your life for a reason and I am positive that she did. We had more in common than I thought as we touched on many topics. I asked her if she was on Instagram and she shyly said yes. I went on it and saw she had over 2400 followers and I was like WHAT?! I digress; it was our chat about recovery that really connected us – I knew God had sent her to me and I’m very grateful for it.
About 4 months after our first encounter I went on a major life trip. I travelled to become a certified yoga teacher and visited Bali, Thailand, India and England. We stayed in touch on social media and upon my return connected in real time. I taught a yoga class at the MaRS building and invited her to come along.
As a treat, I made some superfood power balls for all the practitioners to enjoy post class. According to my dear friend @thelittleblackcoffeecup that’s where the idea was born for this collaboration. She emailed me and proposed the idea she was working on #thingsthatgowithcoffee
She came over with a fantastic bag of coffee, a hand grinder and her camera and we got to work!
As she snapped away I got messy making balls. It was such a lovely afternoon. Please go follow her amazing Instagram account @thelittleblackcoffeecup and go to her website to read her version of that day’s events.

Currently it sounds like WordPress is the best blogging platform available right now.
(from what I’ve read) Is that what you’re using on your blog?
yes it is! I find it very useful
Hi! Wondering if these need to be kept in the fridge / freezer, or if you can keep them out on the the counter for a while (in an air-tight container). They seem to be made of shelf-stable stuff.. just wondering as I’m thinking of making them as a post-workout snack and would like to keep some with me while I’m “on-the-go”. Thanks!
Hey Lauren, this will really depend on your current climate however I keep them in the fridge and if you are taking them on the go that shouldn’t be an issue! Hope this helps 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I can’t wait to make these tonight for a road trip! If I don’t have coconut, would it work to sub with 2/3 cup rolled oats (or less??)? Thanks, Teri-Ann!!
Hey Tammie, I can’t wait for you to try it! I haven’t tried subbing the coconut for rolled oats but I think it could work out – maybe add bit by bit so things don’t get to crumbly! Best of luck and enjoy your road trip
Ah that makes sense— thank you so much, Teri-Ann!
Hola, si quisiera hacer estas bolas de granola para vender y emprender con ellas, cómo podría hacerlo?, me refiero a si las tendría que vender congeladas, o venderlas el mismo día que las haga y sugerir meterlas al congelador o refrigerador?
Hi Luis! A few things to suggest here – make sure that if you plan on selling granola balls you adapt the recipe to be all your own and use ingredients that your clients are going to be most interested in. Also freezing or sharing raw is going to really depend on your climate, environment, and clientele. I provide all of my recipes for free so I’ve never dived into selling anything – you may want to chat with some other cooks local to you! Best of luck on your venture – I am pleased to know that this recipe has inspired you to create a business!
I don’t see the nutrition info on these listed. Could you provide that please? They look delicious! Thanks!
Hi Tammy, the macros have been added to the recipe card – I should note that these are general as they have been created by the calculator. Thank you
would these be good baked?
Hi Jane, I have never baked these before, if you try it let me know how it goes
Hi! How to keep them in the freezer? Should I freeze them in an air tight container?
Hi Mehkeh, you should always store them in an air tight container!
