Strawberry Raspberry Chia Jam

Ingredients

  • 2 cups strawberries sliced
  • ¼ cup raspberries frozen
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds

Instructions

  • Use a large spoon to mash berries together. They will start to lose shape and raspberries will release juices.

  • Add maple syrup and simmer for 10 minutes until berries break down.
  • Add chia seeds and continue to simmer over low heat for 5 more minutes until thoroughly broken down.
  • Allow to cool completely before using.

Notes

It can be made from frozen or fresh berries. If you are lucky to be able to get a big haul and freeze them, this could be made in the dead of winter, shining a little summer light on a cold winter's day.
