Candied Spiced Nuts (Refined Sugar Free)

These Candied Spiced Nuts are sweet, salty, crunchy, and completely refined sugar free! Made with mixed nuts, maple syrup, warm spices, egg whites and herbs, they’re perfect for snacking, gifting, and adding to holiday spreads. Ingredients

  • 1 cup walnuts
  • ½ cup cashews
  • ½ cup hazelnuts
  • ½ cup pistachios
  • ½ cup macadamia nuts
  • ½ cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1 egg white
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp cardamom
  • 1 tsp Aleppo chilli powder
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme or finely chopped rosemary
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300 convection.
  • Lightly spray parchment paper and place it on a baking tray.
  • Add nuts and seeds to a bowl and stir to combine.
  • In a separate bowl, add 1 egg white and whisk vigorously to combine.
  • Scrape into the bowl with the nuts and add maple syrup and spices. Stir well to coat.
  • Spread evenly onto a baking tray and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Gently move nuts around and continue to bake for another 15-20 minutes until nuts are golden brown.
  • Allow the nuts to cool completely before lifting off the pan.
  • Transfer to jars and store at room temperature.

Notes

  • Make sure you spray your parchment paper with non-stick spray.
  • Allow the nuts to cool completely before transferring them to jars.
  • You could switch up the spices any way you like!
